  • I have and/or created this great site but how do I get it up on my site?

        This process is called FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Their are several ways to ftp to your web site.

        You can use ftp clients such as Ws Ftp Pro, CuteFTP Pro 1.0, Internet Explorer 6.X or the program

        you use to create your web page. Just about every web page creator these days come with built in

        ftp clients witch you can use.  Note, due to problem-mattic experiences some of out clients had with  using the built in front page ftp (front page extensions), we do not support it as of now. Click Here for a walk through

  • I uploaded my web site via FTP but I cannot access it using the web browser, was my account setup?

        Internet standard for the main start page in witch the web server picks for the start page for a site is

        index.htm, index.html, default.htm, default.html, index.asp and default.asp.  Out web servers looks for these pages and will load them up first.  If your start page is home.htm you will receive a page cannot be displayed error when viewing your site with the browser.  We recommend that you rename you start page to one of these name standers so that your site will operate correctly.

  • I want to use the forms send a custom response back to the user who filled it out.

        What you need to do is set up a form and were the user enters in their email address use the value for that field as "email".  This will then be used by the code below to send a response back to this email address.

        Here is a sample of what you can use as a start.  Enter in this code in your form.

        <input type="hidden" name="do_receipt" value="on">
        <input type="hidden" name="receipt_subject" value="Automated Response System">
        <input type="hidden" name="receipt_from" value="info@mydomain.com">
        <input type="hidden" name="template_receipt" value="thankyou.txt">

        All templates must be put in the path of your ftp upload as follows \cgi-bin\GeoCel\Templates

        You can use a text editor or notepad to make the thankyou.txt template.  This template is processed by our web server and then based on what values you enter will dertmeine the email that the user who filled out the form on your site will receive.  In your templates directory you will see a sample.txt to help give you an idea on how to customize a response back.

  • I am getting errors on my form when I click submit.  Were do I point the form to in the cgi-bin?

        When you transfer a website with a forms their is a slight chance that it may not operate correctly.

        What we need to do is repoint the action path to the correct location that our web servers require.

        Here is a sample of what it should look like.

        <form name="SalesList" action="../cgi-bin/wmprodb.exe" method="get">

  • I am not able to get the forms that I have created to email to outside email address ?

        You must enter in the field called "EMAIL" this will let the email script know that this is the sender of the request for information from your site.

  • I am not getting all the fields emailed to me correctly when I click submit.

        A common standard in the internet world is that no spaces are allowed so the same rule applies to

        forms as well.  Most providers allow spaces in the form value fields.  We don't.  An example of an incorrect value would be <input type="text" name="Phone number".  Correct this by putting a "_" or a "." replacing the space.  Here is what it should look like <input type="text" name="Phone_number"

  • I am interested in learning more about web forms and its advanced features..

        We provide two manuals in your \cgi-bin\ directory of your site.  Wmprodb_1.doc and Wmprodb_2.doc can be downloaded via ftp when you update your site.  These include everything you will need to know.

  • I am having problems updating my web site via ftp.  Should I be using passive mode?

        NO.  Uncheck passive mode.  This will solve your problem.

  • I seem to be having trouble with the email service.  Can it be my DSL connection,?

        Yes, studies so far have showed that some local ISPs will drop you off from the internet

    when they detect no activity from you PC.  To eliminate this hassle Click Here to download

    a batch file that will keep-alive your internet connection when not in use.

  • What is the email retention policy time for my mailbox account?

        All emails that are sent and deleted can be always seen even after the fact that if you deleted them email or if you have sent one.  You are given 2 days to be able to see then under the sent items and deleted items.  After 2 days they are automatically moved to the system cleanup folder.  Here you have 7 days to retrieve any emails that you want.  Every day the system attendant on the mail server will perform this task to determine what is to be moved or deleted.

  • What's the difference with using web based and Pop3?

        Their are two different ways to send and receive mail over the internet. We give you the best of both worlds here.   The major difference is if you are using our web based access you can send and receive mail from anywhere in the world with just a web browser.  Your online space however is limited to 15 megabytes, witch compared to the free services which average out to only 5 megabytes. On the flip side using pop3, you need a email client such as Outlook Express or Netscape Email. With this set up you are bound to the computer you have the email client installed to. This type of access using the pop3 access "Pulls" your inbox from our servers to your email client locally. All your mail is now located on your PC.  One benefit of using this type of access is that you are able customize your mail look more easily.  You can switch between the two types of access anytime.

  • How do I access my mail account using the web?

        You can have instant access to send and receive mail by using the web based access option. Furthermore it give you additional features such as Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Sent Items and Deleted Items over the web.  Log on to http://www.poboxinc.com or use the "Check your mail" link found to the left. You will need your "USERNAME" and PASSWORD that is assigned to that e-mail account.

  • How do I access my mail account using Pop3?

        First you need have your account information handy such as; your name, e-mail address, pop3     server, account location, username and password. Most operating systems fairly new come with pop3 clients such as MS Outlook/Express, Netscape Communicator or Advanced Email Parser. Their are 4 main key points that are needed to set up just about any email client.  PLEASE BE ADVISED we have taken a security measure that no relaying off our system is allowed!  You now must use an up to date

    email client and find the setting called "authentication before sending mail OR my server requires authentication for sending outgoing mail"  If you cannot find this setting please call our office and we will help you set this up.  We have tested this on Mac and PC using the latest email clients.

    We have created a sample guide of a typical setup using MS Outlook Express. Click here for a walk through
